As hospitality businesses are now well aware, the Employment Allocation of Tips Act 2023 states that it is mandatory for all tips to be passed on to workers without deductions.  However, from 1st October 2024, further legislation has been introduced regarding the fair and transparent allocation and distribution of tips, gratuities and service charges. 

One of the most important changes is that records of tips must be kept for up to 3 years and any member of staff can make a written request to see these records every 3 months. Workers are able to enforce their rights regarding this legislation through employment tribunials.

Thankfully, if you use a Samtouch or eZeePos EPOS system, you can now access reports specifically for tips and gratuities. These reports are stripped down financial reports showing limited information as required to show to staff.

Last weekend saw the start of the annual Halloween extravaganza at Tulleys Farm, Shocktober!  Be prepared to be scared at the scream park. Now celebrating 25 years of screams the park boasts many haunts and attractions including, amongst others, The Haunted Hayride, The Creepy Cottage, The Island and The Village Coven of 13. They also have 2 bars, food courts, live music and a street theatre.

From personal experience I can tell you it's alot of fun and, no matter how aware you might think you are, you will be made to jump at least once during the evening. Click on their logo above to visit their website for more information.

There are also events during the day for the family and don't forget the Tulleys Pumpkin Park where children (and adults) can pick their own. Just try not to let the children run off with them!
