We were delighted to be asked to install a specially designed Sam4s Titan S360 system in the new Merstham Mix cafe.  The Merstham Mix is a Community Interest Company (CIC). They take food destined for waste to create a circular model for excess, quality local food produce. Their mission is to create a cafe in the heart of the community where everyone who walks through the door feels welcome.

By working with food surplus partners and using high quality donated goods they provide meals which are affordable, nutritious and available to everyone. The cafe is operated by staff and volunteers so, as we often tend to, we programmed the terminal to be as easy to use as possible for the operators bearing in mind that they may not have had any experience with EPOS equipment.

To round off this little batch of retail installations is one for Quality Superstore in Aldershot, Hampshire.  They now have a 2 Sam4s Titan S360 terminals with scanners, customer displays, linked weighing scales and integrated card machines.  While looking professional, having the scales and card terminals linked also reduces the risk of operator error as amounts do not have to be retyped into a different piece of equipment.

Quality Superstore are also uitilising the clouded Samtouch Office to monitor and control their stock with the help of a rugged Unitech EA-500Plus tablet with built-in scanner to assist with counting the stock.  It has the added advantage that immediate price changes can also be made using the device as you walk around the store.

This installation was for ADA Market, a new supermarket now open in Maidstone, Kent specialising in European food and drink. Similar to the Turner's Garage installation, ADA Market also have a Sam4s Titan S360 terminal with a scanner to register barcoded items. This scanner sits in its stand but can be removed and used by hand. 

We've realised that we haven't mentioned any retail installations so we'd better put that right by posting a few now.

First up, Turners Garage in Pulborough had a single Sam4s Titan S360 terminal with a scanner in their forecourt shop. They also have an integrated card terminal, supplied by Paymentsense, allowing them to accept customer's card payments by seamlessly transferring the balance directly from the till to the card machine. 

You may notice that there is a customer display on the back of the EPOS terminal.  This 2-line version dislays products as they are scanned along with their prices and shows the total of the transaction at the end.  Especially helpful for the hard of hearing.

At the beginning of April one of our lucky engineers installed a new Sam4s Titan S360 system with 4 terminals at the oldest pub on London's River Thames, The Mayflower in Rotherhithe.  With amazing river views from either the restaurant or outside jetty, it's a lovely setting to enjoy some famous British cuisine made with fresh local ingredients. You can find out what's on the menu by clicking on their name above. To assist in their operations, The Mayflower are utilising the clouded Samtouch Office software to update their menus and analyse reports remotely.  They are also using additonal modules to issue and monitor their promotional vouchers and to record their employee's time and attendance.
